Thanks for visiting!
Most likely if you found this site you are a friend or a friend of a friend. If by the off chance you are not, welcome and let me tell you a little about myself.
I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialty in photography. After graduation, finding it tough to make a living as a artist, and having other goals of getting married and starting a family, I made the decision to put photography on the back burner. I always said "some day I will pick up the cameras again" probably in retirement.
Fast forward to May of 2023, over the course of a week I started to lose vision in my right eye. It turned out that I had a detached retina and I was heading on a journey I never thought I would be on. After 4 surgeries, a lot of recovery and frustration, I finally had my vision back again. I now have about 85% of my vision back and I am grateful for that.
As I was getting used to my new vision, I realized that there are things I could not do anymore. No more mountain biking, hockey and my golf game which was not great to begin with, was even worse. I needed something to distract me. I came up with the idea of starting to shoot again, hoping that maybe that would help retrain my eyes.
While I don't think my images are "gallery" worthy and I am learning the digital world of photography, I felt like I was at the point that I wanted to start sharing.
So please enjoy,
Dave
